Sophie Letourneur

Direction & Screenplay

After studying at Duperré School of Applied Arts (École supérieure des arts appliqués Duperré) and then at the French National School of Decorative Arts (École nationale supérieure des Arts Décoratifs)—where she directed three films—she made experimental videos, installations and documentaries. In 2011, she directed a short film Le marin masqué (The Shady Sailor) which she showcased at the Locarno Film Festival; she took the opportunity to shoot the critically acclaimed Les coquillettes. Ecce Films then produced two of her feature films: La vie au ranch (Chicks), for which she received the double Audience Award and French Film Prize at the “EntreVues” Festival in Belfort, and Gaby Baby Doll, starring Lolitah Chammah and Benjamin Biolay. Énorme (Enormous), starring Marina Foïs and Jonathan Cohen, is her fourth feature film.
