16-year-old Sophie Jones is grappling with the recent death of her mother. Physical intimacy with another person becomes the only way for Sophie to feel anything. She tries to keep her relationships strictly for her own empowerment and as a means of distraction. Ultimately Sophie learns that sexual intimacy is a temporary salve, but love is lasting medicine.

She makes her feature film directorial debut with Sophie Jones, from executive producer Nicole Holofcener which will world premiere in competition at the 2020 Deauville Film Festival.

Jessica Barr is a writer and actress from Portland, Oregon. She won best actress at the 2019 Portland 48-hour Film Festival for her lead role in the short film Waiting Game. Jessica is a senior at Portland State University. Sophie Jones is her feature film debut.
